제9장 Chapter IX  SEC WFSRI Rating

 

 

 

제9장은 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI))를 기반으로 운영되는 SEC WFSRI Rating의 개발 배경과 목적, 운영 개념 및 기본 체계를 설명한다. 또한 조직의 책임경영 수준을 공식 등급으로 제시하기 위한 기본 원칙과 활용 방향을 제시한다.

 

Chapter IX explains the development background, purpose, operational concept, and fundamental framework of the SEC WFSRI Rating, which is based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). It also presents the fundamental principles and intended application of the official Responsible Management rating system.

Overview of the SEC WFSRI Rating

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI))를 기반으로 기업과 공공기관을 비롯한 다양한 조직의 책임경영 수준을 종합적으로 평가하기 위하여 개발된 공식 평가등급체계이다. WFSRI가 조직의 책임경영 수준을 하나의 통합지수로 제시한다면, SEC WFSRI Rating은 이를 이해하기 쉬운 공식 등급으로 체계화하여 평가결과의 활용성과 비교가능성을 높이는 것을 목적으로 한다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating is the official rating system developed to comprehensively evaluate the Responsible Management performance of corporations, public institutions, and other eligible organizations based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). While the WFSRI expresses Responsible Management performance as an integrated index, the SEC WFSRI Rating translates that index into an official rating framework, enhancing the usability and comparability of evaluation results.

 

 

기존의 기업평가체계는 재무성과 또는 일부 비재무 요소를 중심으로 발전해 왔으나, 조직의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성, 장기적인 가치창출 역량을 종합적으로 평가하는 데에는 일정한 한계가 있었다. 이러한 한계를 보완하고 책임경영의 실질적인 수준을 보다 객관적으로 평가하기 위한 새로운 평가체계의 필요성이 제기되었다.

 

Conventional evaluation systems have primarily focused on financial performance or selected non-financial factors. However, they have shown limitations in comprehensively assessing an organization's social responsibility, sustainability, and long-term value creation capability. These limitations highlighted the need for a new evaluation framework capable of objectively measuring Responsible Management.

 

 

2017년 1월, 기존 평가체계의 한계를 보완하고 조직의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성을 보다 체계적이고 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 평가체계를 구축하기 위한 연구개발에 착수하였다.

 

In January 2017, research and development commenced to establish a new evaluation framework capable of assessing organizational social responsibility and sustainability in a more systematic and objective manner while overcoming the limitations of conventional evaluation systems.

 

 

이후 책임경영의 철학과 평가원칙을 정립하고 6대 평가부문(6 Major Evaluation Domains), 14개 하위평가항목(14 SEC Strategic Pillars), SEC 평가지표 체계(110개 세부평가지표)(SEC Indicator System (110 Detailed Evaluation Indicators)), SEC 핵심가치지표(31개 핵심가치지표, CVIs)(SEC Core Value Indicators (31 Core Value Indicators, CVIs))를 체계적으로 개발하였다. 또한 관련 분야 전문가와 씽크탱크의 장기간 연구와 검증을 거쳐 2025년 11월 1일 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI))를 최종 확정하였다.

 

Subsequently, the philosophy and principles of Responsible Management were established, and the 6 Major Evaluation Domains, 14 SEC Strategic Pillars, the SEC Indicator System (110 Detailed Evaluation Indicators), and the SEC Core Value Indicators (31 Core Value Indicators, CVIs) were systematically developed. Based on extensive research and validation conducted with experts and think tanks, the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) was officially finalized on November 1, 2025.

 

 

이어 평가운영체계와 적용기준을 종합적으로 검토하여 2025년 12월 26일 「제1회 WFPL 기업·공공기관 ESG 평가」를 최종 확정하였으며, 2026년 1월 1일 「제1회 WFPL 기업·공공기관 ESG 평가」를 공식 공고함으로써 SEC WFSRI Rating과 SEC WFSRI Certification의 운영을 시작하였다.

 

Following a comprehensive review of the evaluation framework and operational standards, the First WFPL ESG Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions was officially finalized on December 26, 2025. Subsequently, the First WFPL ESG Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions was officially announced on January 1, 2026, marking the commencement of the SEC WFSRI Rating and the SEC WFSRI Certification.

 

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 조직의 책임경영 수준을 객관적이고 일관된 기준에 따라 평가하고 이를 공식 등급으로 제시함으로써, 조직의 지속가능한 성장과 장기적인 경쟁력 향상을 지원하는 공식 평가등급체계로 활용된다. 또한 이해관계자에게 신뢰성 있는 평가정보를 제공하고, 책임경영의 확산과 지속적인 개선을 촉진하는 기준으로 기능한다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating serves as the official rating system that evaluates Responsible Management using objective and consistent standards and presents the results through official ratings. It supports sustainable organizational growth and long-term competitiveness while providing stakeholders with reliable evaluation information and promoting the continuous advancement of Responsible Management.
