세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL, WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS, 이하 세계총연맹)은 지난 2007년 1월11일 설립된 '국제청소년연구원 (구. 국제청소년연구소, 초대 대표 이산하<李山河>)'을 모태로 한 비영리 정치적 중립기구로, 세계총연맹 부설 언론기관인 세계언론협회(WPA, WORLD PRESS ASSOCIATION)와 전국 17개 광역시•도 지부연맹 및 세계 각 국가의 지부연맹을 통해서 열정을 가진 청년인재들과 함께 사회의 구조적 모순에서 일어나는 위기상황을 해결해 나가는데 기여하고 있다. 또한 세계 각국 간의 교류와 협력을 통해 사회적 약자가 소외 받지 않고 참여와 소통의 문화가 확산돼 ’더불어 함께하는 세상'을 열어 가는데 가치를 두고 있다.

전국언론단체총연합회(NFPO, National Federation of Press Organizations)는 전국의 언론단체들이 자발적으로 참여하여 설립한 정치적 중립의 비영리 언론연합기구로서 언론의 자유와 독립성 수호, 민주주의 가치 증진 및 언론계의 건전한 발전을 위하여 활동하고 있다.

 

The National Federation of Press Organizations (NFPO) is a politically neutral, non-profit federation established through the voluntary participation of press organizations across the nation. It is dedicated to protecting press freedom and independence, promoting democratic values, and contributing to the healthy development of the media sector.

 

전국언론단체총연합회는 언론의 공공성과 사회적 책임을 강화하고, 언론기관 및 언론인 간의 협력과 연대를 확대함으로써 보다 자유롭고 공정한 언론환경 조성에 기여하고 있다.

 

The NFPO contributes to the creation of a freer and fairer media environment by strengthening the public responsibility of journalism and promoting cooperation and solidarity among media organizations and journalists.

 

 

 

설립목적
Purpose of Establishment

 

전국언론단체총연합회는 언론의 자유와 독립성을 수호하고 언론의 공공성을 강화하며 국민의 알 권리를 보장하기 위하여 설립되었다.

 

The NFPO was established to protect freedom and independence of the press, strengthen the public responsibility of journalism, and safeguard the public's right to know.

 

또한 특정세력에 의한 권력 사유화로 인해 불행한 역사가 반복되지 않도록 권력에 대한 감시와 견제 기능을 강화하고 민주주의 가치 수호에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

 

It also seeks to strengthen oversight and accountability functions to prevent the recurrence of tragic histories caused by the privatization of power by particular interests and to contribute to the protection of democratic values.

The NFPO is a federation consisting of more than fifty media organizations, including the World Press Association (WPA), the Korea Internet Newspaper Association, the Korea Legislative Journalists Association, the National Weekly Newspaper Association, the Korea New Media Journalists Association, the Korea Media Culture Association, the World Press Corps (WPC), and the World YouTuber Press Corps (WYPC).
